Crafting hundred sunglasses

with No Comments
We gave a new life to snowboards upcycling them into handmade sunglasses. We start driving from Austria to Italy, to have a look to the best joinery workshops of the Trentino Alto Adige to find the right one. And we found it. Here are some pictures of the materials and of the handcrafting process. Recycling old snowboards was a lot of fun especially when we met Mr. Bigoni, one of the most experienced wood worker we have ever known. He was so stoked about the project and started experimenting with us. We end up creating some good refined frames. We still have 2 hundred snowboards to recycle so the best is yet to come. Stay tuned. Enjoy some pictures of the woodworking.

This beauty made in cast iron is from 1962

We loved how modern and old machine were working together

As always handwork didn't let us down

How we cut the boards

There was also an infinite variety of wood. But this is another story.

All the material is prepared now. We are heading to Milan to cut unique frames. Peace!
